SURFACE ANALYSIS LABORATORY (ESCALAB)  is equipped with facilities and installations intended for the microphysical characterization of surfaces and thin films (XPS analysis, XPS Microscopy, "depth profiling") and electrochemical surface engineering experiments (plasma treatment electrolysis, electrodeposition from ionic liquids) for the development of usable materials under extreme conditions - pressure, temperature and high neutron fluxes. TESTING LABORATORY FOR THE RADIOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MATERIALS RESULTED FROM NUCLEAR PRACTICES (CROWN)  provides services for the radiological characterization of the materials resulted from authorized nuclear practices, in order to release them from the authorization regime or to classify them as radioactive waste. The areas covered are the decommissioning of nuclear facilities, treatment and conditioning of radioactive waste and characterization and radio-ecological restoration of some contaminated areas, potential beneficiaries being owners of authorization in accordance with the requirements of Law no.111/1996 and the applicable norms as well as other economic agents and some public authorities.
