Heavy Water and Tritium

Objective:
    Sustainability in the operation of heavy water plant and Tritium management.
Research perspectives:
  • Improvement of safety and reliability of the heavy water plant;
  • Efficiency improvement of heavy water fabrication;
  • Personnel and environment protection in heavy water manufacturing;
  • Tritium disposal.
Main results of research:
  • Methodology for the physical and chemical characterization of protection pyrite layers;
  • In-situ surveillance of the protection pyrite layers behavior;
  • Reversible storage unit for Hydrogen isotopes;
  • Electrochemical hydriding method for interest alloys of interest.
