RESULTS

 

 

The project PERFORMCOR has the principal scope the improvement of research and development infrastructure of LADICON laboratory. The major objectives of PERFORMCOR project were:

 

*      The achievement of some research and development equipments which permitted the enlarged the analyses methods in LADICON, the bringing in some news analyze techniques and, implicit, the increasing of the competitively degree of the personnel implied in monitoring activity of corrosion effects.

*      The arrangement of spaces destined to different techniques for investigation of the degradation effects of corrosion.

*      Enlarged of authorized domain of LADICON with the activity of crystallographic compounds identification using X Rays diffraction.

 

The research and development achieved equipments

 

*     X’Pert PRO MPD Diffractometer (MPD – Multi Purpose Diffractometer), manufactured by PANalytical, Holland

 

Methods:

*  Phase Identification;

*  Rietveld Analysis and Crystallography;

*  Phase Quantification;

*  Micro tension and crystallite dimension;

*  Texture Analysis;

*  Residual Stress Analysis

Samples types  :

*  Crystalline, metallic or ceramic;

*  Powder or compact;

*  Thin layers;

*  Organic compounds.

*      Micro-diffraction equipment permits the investigation by XRD the small samples or the small spots on samples with strong gradients in composition, stress and texture, such as worked pieces of metal. With the use of a mono-capillary it is possible to produce an incident X-ray beam with a diameter of maximum 100µm.

 

*     Sequential WDXRF ARL Advant’X Series with IntelliPowerTM, manufactured by Thermo Fisher, Swiss

 

*  It is a multi-element technique for solids, liquids, loose powders. We can identify the major, minor or traces elements between B and U.

*  The software permitted the qualitative and quantitative analyses using the calibrated curves.

*     Pellet Press PP 25 (manufactured by RETSCH Germany)

 

*  a hydraulic press with maximum pressure of 25 tons,

*  for the preparation of solid samples (pellets) for X-ray fluorescence analysis

 

*      UniQuant permits to perform the standardless semi-quantitative to quantitative XRF analysis using the intensities measured by a sequential X-ray spectrometer. UniQuant is highly effective for analyzing samples for which no standards are available or are very difficult to prepare.

 

*      Constant load / low cycle fatigue autoclave SSRT 50KN

 

*  carried out the traction test in corrosive environments and high temperature for nuclear materials  

*  measure the rate of cracking in corrosive environments and high temperature

*  the study of cyclic fatigue behavior of metals

 

*      Electrochemical system  PGSTAT 302N, produced by  AutoLab

 

Permit to carried out the followings analyses Nyquist, Bode, admittance, dielectric, Mott-Schottky, electrochemical noise, impedance spectrometry

 

*     Metallographic microscope GX71 OLYMPUS

 

 

*      Polishing machine for metallographic samples PHOENIX BETA

 

 

*      IsoMET 4000 (manufacturer BUHLER)

 

 

*      Cutting machine MECATOME T350M (manufacturer PRESSI)

 

 

*      Press METAPRESS A (manufacturer METKOM)

 

*      UPS manufactured by Greenpoint

 

Scope: used with XRD equipment (power 15kVA) and XRF equipment (10 kVA).

   

 

*      Hot air oven:

*  with ventilation forced, model LDO-150F, 150l;

*  with naturally ventilation, model EC 100, 100l

 

         

 

*      Laboratory Chemical hood HCH 1500 (producer Electronic April SRL Cluj)

 

*    Debit of   exhausted air 400-600m3/h

*    Rate of air flow 0.4-0.6m/s

*    Centrifugal ventilator

*    Noise 60dB
