Out-of-Pile Testing Department
Objectives:
- Theoretical Research for the Romanian Nuclear Fuel Bundle;
- Technology and equipments for Cernavoda NPP-Design and Development;
- Testing of the Romanian fuel bundle and testing of the Fueling Machines;
- Technological support and test equipments for Cernavoda NPP.
Activities:
- Mechanical and Thermo-hydraulic Analysis;
- Analyses and Interpretations of Experimental Data and Process Data for Nuclear Reactors;
- Technology and Equipments for Cernavoda NPP: Design and Development;
- Computer Methods Development;
- Tests and Measurements for Cernavoda NPP System's Components: Nuclear Fuel, Nuclear Fueling Machines, reserve pusher RAMS, Closures Channel, Special tools and contrivances;
- Elaboration of new Methods and Technologies for the Maintenance of Equipments from Cernavoda NPP: Fuel Handling System;
- Technological Support and Consulting for Cernavoda NPP.
Experimental Facilities:
- Fuel element testing rig;
- Fuelling machine testing rig;
- Closure channel testing rig;
- Reactivity control mechanism testing rig;
- Diaphragms testing rig;
- RAM testing rig;
- Explosion panels testing rig;
- Breaking disks testing rig;
- Measurement Chains including specialized Instrumentation: Vibration Transmitters, Pressure Transmitters, Flow Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters, Stress Transducers, Analogue Signals Amplification and Magnetic Recording, Analogue Spectrum Analysis.
Main Achievements:
- Romanian Fuel Bundle out-of-pile Testing: Resistance Type Test, Impact Type Test, Pressure Drop Tests, Endurance Test, Wear Test;
- Tests of the Equipments for NPP Cernavoda: Testing of the Explosion Panels, the Design, Production and Testing of the Pressure Reducers, the Tests for the Characterization of the Vibration and Wear Behavior of the Steam Generator Piping, Vibration Tests of the various Electronic Components, Acceptance Tests of the Closure Channels made;
- Testing of the Fueling Machines #4 and #5 for Cernavoda NPP-Unit 2;
- Testing of the Spare RAMs 7 for Cernavoda NPP- Unit 2;
- Manufacturing of Specialized Devices for Out-of-Pile Tests: the Devices Assembly for Resistance Test, the Devices Assembly for the Impact test, the Devices Assembly for the Rotational-Longitudinal Pressure Drop Test, the Devices Assembly for Wear Test;
- Development of the Acceptance Used Technologies: Technology for re-establishment of Defected Thermal Insulation of SLCD System, Numerical Simulations;
- Obscuration technology of defect culvert by steam generator using a device of deformation plastic (shock electro-hydraulic);
- Control technical nondestructive: response sampling technical containing defect impress on inside surfaces of culverts by diameter under 1’’;
- Manufacturing of special Tools and Devices for Maintenance Works for NPP: Tubular Synchronous Linear Electric Motor, Electro-hydraulic Devices with Direct-Indirect Actuator to obstruct the Defective Steam Generator, Device to Dismounting in Injury Conditions of Fueling Machine Plug, Device for renewal of the F/H Sensors' Magnets;
- Manufacturing of Electrical-Mechanical Fuelling Machine Simulator;
- Manufacturing of Facilities for Testing of Fuelling Machine RAM Assembly;
- Theoretical Models and Software;
- Projection/realization of high power electrics heating for vessel sub pressure witch work in static and dynamic regime.
