Metrology & IT
Objective:
- To provide basic units for measuring in order to facilitate correct assessment in research-development and production processes, both from technical and legal point of view;
- To establish and implement SCN IT policy and to manage the informational resources.
Activities:
- The Laboratory verifies, standardizes, calibrates and repairs gauges and monitoring devices for which it is licensed under quality assurance requirements and in accordance with SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2001. In order to offer the basic units for measuring, the laboratory conceives its own standards at the INM (National Institute of Metrology) in Bucharest, or other laboratories licensed by BRML (Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology);
- The laboratory offers specialized consultancy and service for measurement and control equipment which is repaired and/or metrologically customized in its own workshops and laboratories;
- It is also responsible for the operation of computer technique equipment, Intranet, Internet and e-mail. One of its tasks is to bring up suggestions concerning internal regulations are related to the use of the IT equipment and to submit them to the SCN management staff.
Main Achievements:
- The laboratory obtained all the authorizations and certificates compulsory for legal functioning. This is the consequence of the fact that the metrology laboratory was standardized by BRML according to the requirements of the European standard SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2005 - "General requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories".
- The lab is in responsible for orders coming from external customers (FCN Pitesti - The Nuclear Fuel Plant, Hidroconstructia Pitesti, etc.), and it deals with metrological controls/standards, repairs, recalibrations and adjustments of the measurement system.
