On March 12 to 15, 2007,the Institute for Nucleare Research Pitesti  in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA-Vienna hosted the 2-nd Research Coordination Meeting (RCM)  of the Coordinated Research Project (CRP) on “Delayed Hydride Cracking of Zirconium Alloy Fuel Cladding”

       Attended by participants from Argentina, Brasil, Canada, India, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Romania, Russia and Sweden, the event allowed to disseminate the results acquired during the first stage, to discuss en detail the technical problems, to define the objectives and a timetable for the final stage of the Project.

       The technical visits of the TRIGA Reactor, Post-Irradiation Examination Labs Nuclear Materials& Corrosion Department, the practical demonstrations of the experimental techniques developed by the Mechanical Testing Group were the highlights of the meeting.

       In the same  time the Meeting offered the opportunity to settle new cooperation contacts in the nuclear area, to  strength the friendly relationship between participants in this international project,  to have a  very pleasant stay in Pitesti and in Romania.
