Project proposed in the framework of the Ministry of Education and Research Programme „Research of Excellence” – Modulus I, 2005 - 2008

       In the medium-term perspectives, the interest in nuclear energy using fission is focusing to develop the fourth generation of nuclear energy systems. The perspective for Generation IV nuclear energy systems is to have them available for international deployment about the year 2030, when many of the world’s currently operating nuclear power plants will be at or near the end of their operating licenses. The main missions for Generation IV systems are: electricity and hydrogen production and actinide management.
